Wavetrac LSD for BMW 168 Small-Case Axle: 2002, E21 & E30 (Open-Diff Axles)

A limited slip differential for BMW's small 168mm rear axle as fitted with an open diff to the 2002, the E21 3 Series and the E30. These light rear-drive classics are a joy until the inside wheel lifts on a tight exit; the Wavetrac keeps driving the other one. Some flange and axle work is part of the fitting - see the notes below.

Check before you order

• From an open diff, the drive flanges need modifying, or use the original-equipment LSD flanges. From an original LSD, its flanges can be reused, but an open-diff case or side covers are needed.
• The cars listed are a guide only: BMW fitted more than one axle size and final drive ratio to the same model. Confirm your axle size and ratio from the VIN or the axle's part number before ordering.

Fitting notes

• The original axles need a groove cut in them to take a snap ring.
