Exoracing Embossed Aluminium Heat Shield

A rigid, formable radiant heat barrier designed to protect vulnerable areas from exhaust, turbo, manifold and downpipe heat. The sheet has a base thickness of about 0.5mm with embossing around 2mm deep, in a raw aluminium finish with an embossed texture, and comes in two sheet sizes so you can match it to the area you want covered.

• Rated to about 600°C / 1100°F continuous, with a burst temperature of about 1100°C / 2000°F.
• The 300mm x 1000mm sheet is for smaller focused areas such as wiring protection, intake shielding, turbo side panels, brake or fuel line shielding, or small custom heat shields.
• The 600mm x 1000mm sheet is for larger areas such as firewalls, bulkheads, transmission tunnels, floor pans, fuel tank shielding, underbody panels or wider custom coverage.
• The embossed structure helps the sheet hold shape, improves rigidity and creates small air gap points that can help the shield perform better when mounted correctly.
• Weighs about 434g in 300mm x 1000mm and about 877g in 600mm x 1000mm. Supplied as one sheet with 12 self-tapping screws.

• Sharp edges: Cut edges can be sharp and should be handled carefully; gloves and eye protection should always be worn when cutting or shaping the shield
• Cutting: Cut the shield to size using tin snips or suitable metal cutting tools
• Mounting: Mount using the included self-tapping screws, rivets, clamps, brackets or suitable thermal standoffs
• Clearance: Mount securely and keep clear of moving parts, belts, steering components, suspension, driveshafts and exhaust movement
• Air gap: Where possible, leave an air gap between the heat shield and the protected surface for better radiant heat control
• After fitting: Check fixings after the first heat cycle and again after road or track use
• Installation difficulty: Moderate DIY item; professional installation is recommended if cutting, shaping or mounting near critical vehicle parts
