Coilovers for the xDrive G20 and G21 3 Series (330e, 330i and M340i), the G22 M440i and the G42 2 Series (230i and M240i). Five series are offered, from the 5100 Street to the 5300 3-Way, and AST list the kit for cars with and without EDC.

Every AST damper is a monotube: nothing inside can aerate or foam, which AST say keeps the valving responsive.

5100 Street, inverted (AST ACU)

The 5100 Street kit with inverted monotube dampers, adjustable for rebound damping and ride height. The front dampers are coilovers; at the rear the spring and damper stay separate, as the car was built. Springs come in the kit, which works with the car's original top mounts. AST fix the rear spring rate for each car. The rebound adjuster has 12 positions, and the dampers can be rebuilt.

5100 Street Performance (AST ACT)

The 5100 Street kit with camber-adjustable top mounts added at the front. Inverted monotube dampers, adjustable for rebound damping and ride height; coilovers at the front, and a separate spring and damper at the rear as the car was built. Adjustable camber lets you set the angle of the front wheels, and with it how the front end grips. AST fix the rear spring rate for each car. The rebound adjuster has 12 positions, and the dampers can be rebuilt.

5100 Clubracing (AST ACC)

The 1-way kit for cars that see track days as well as daily miles: inverted monotube coilovers front and rear, with top mounts at both ends. The front top mounts adjust for camber; the rear ones are solid. Spring rates can be changed to suit. Ride height adjusts, the rebound adjuster has 12 positions, and the dampers can be rebuilt.

5200 2-Way Motorsport (AST RIV)

Rebound and compression damping each have their own adjuster, and ride height adjusts too. Compression damping sets how quickly the suspension moves in; rebound sets how quickly it extends again. The dampers work with external reservoirs, mounted remotely. The struts are inverted, which AST use because that design copes with heavy sideways loads and with braking. Where the car needs them, camber-adjustable front and solid rear top mounts are included. Spring rates can be changed, and the rebound adjuster has 12 positions. AST made it first of all for track driving.

5300 3-Way Motorsport (AST RAC)

Three separate damping adjusters - rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression - plus adjustable ride height. Low-speed compression looks after slow, gradual movement of the suspension; high-speed compression looks after sharp, hard hits. The dampers work with external reservoirs, mounted remotely. The struts are inverted, which AST use because that design copes with heavy sideways loads and with braking. Where the car needs them, camber-adjustable front and solid rear top mounts are included. Spring rates can be changed, and the rebound adjuster has 12 positions. AST's kit for the most committed circuit drivers.
