AST Coilovers for Audi R8 (42) V8 & V10

Q: Which option is mine?

Choose the option marked V10 or V8 for your engine. AST list the 5300 for the V10.

Q: What does the 5300 3-Way add?

Compression damping with its own adjusters, low-speed for slow, gradual suspension movement and high-speed for sharp, hard hits, on top of rebound and ride height. The dampers work with external reservoirs.

Q: Which series suits a road car?

AST's own guide points a car used on the road, or on the road with the odd track day on road tyres, to the 5100 series.

Choose your series

Every AST damper is a monotube: nothing inside can aerate or foam, which AST say keeps the valving responsive.

5100 Street (AST ACU)

AST's 1-way 5100 Street kit, adjustable for rebound damping. Springs come in the kit. The rebound adjuster has 12 positions, and the dampers can be rebuilt.

ACU-A4001S (V10): Audi R8 42
ACU-A4002S (V8): Audi R8 42

5300 3-Way Motorsport (AST RAC)

Three separate damping adjusters - rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression - plus adjustable ride height. Low-speed compression looks after slow, gradual movement of the suspension; high-speed compression looks after sharp, hard hits. The dampers work with external reservoirs, mounted remotely. Spring rates can be changed, and the rebound adjuster has 12 positions. AST's kit for the most committed circuit drivers.

RAC-A4001S (V10): Audi R8 42

The photos are AST's own sample shots of each series, not of the kit for your car, which is made for its suspension and differs in detail.
