James Bolden |

Welcome to a new series in blog posts covering all aspects for track day preparation and all the last minute things you need to check before hitting the track. Over the next 7 weeks we will post a complete more detailed post on each of the 7 points we have outlined today. Our hope that at least some of this detail helps one or two of you out there. Happy Racing!

If you're getting ready to hit the track for a day of high-performance driving, it's important to make sure your car is in top condition. Here are some things you should check before heading to the track:

  1. Tires: Make sure your tires are in good condition and properly inflated. Check for any signs of damage or wear, and consider upgrading to high-performance tires if you plan to push your car to its limits on the track.

  2. Brakes: Check your brake pads and rotors for wear and make sure they're in good condition. Consider upgrading to high-performance brake pads and fluid for better stopping power.

  3. Fluids: Make sure your car's fluids are topped off and in good condition. This includes oil, coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid.

  4. Suspension: Check your suspension components for wear and make sure everything is tight and secure. Consider upgrading to high-performance suspension components for better handling on the track.

  5. Battery: Make sure your battery is fully charged and in good condition. Consider upgrading to a high-performance battery if you plan to run electronics or accessories on the track.

  6. Safety gear: Make sure you have all the necessary safety gear, including a helmet, driving gloves, and a fire extinguisher. Check with the track's rules to see what other safety equipment is required.

  7. Know the track: Before hitting the track, make sure you're familiar with the layout and any specific rules or regulations. Take a look at track maps and videos, and consider attending any driver's meetings or track orientation sessions.

By taking the time to check these important areas before hitting the track, you'll not only ensure that your car is in top condition but also help keep yourself and other drivers safe on the track. So, make sure to do a thorough check and enjoy your day of high-performance driving!
